    "category": "contract",
    "summary": "287(g) is the federal program that lets ICE deputize local police and sheriffs to enforce immigration law. ICE hired Koniag Services, an Alaska Native-owned company, to run a round-the-clock national call center near Nashville for those local agencies, for up to $63 million. ICE's planning document says the center will field 6,000 to 7,000 calls a day and give officers \"targeting focus and material\" for finding unaccompanied migrant children.",
    "body": "ICE signed the task order on July 28, 2026, with work from Aug. 6: $17,456,917.40 now and up to $63,035,230.95 with options through August 2030, for support services for Enforcement and Removal Operations' 287(g) National Coordination Center. ICE competed it among small businesses holding GSA's OASIS+ contract, and five offers came in; it is the only order placed so far on Koniag's OASIS+ contract.\n\nICE's request for information from November 2025 describes what it wanted: a center using \"data-enabled technology to receive and process 6,000 to 7,000 calls per day\" from 287(g) partners, staffed around the clock to \"analyze data, perform database cross-checks, and confirm enforcement actions in the field.\" Separate cells would give partners and ICE field offices \"UAC targeting focus and material\" for locating unaccompanied children, and the same for reducing ICE's non-detained docket (people going through immigration court who are not in detention). Another would identify \"emerging technologies\" for the program. ICE asked vendors what technology would \"integrate partner and alien data with our systems.\" The awarded contract's own terms have not been published; Tennessee Lookout reported contract documents describing the same duties.\n\nThe request for information placed the center in \"the greater Nashville, TN metro area.\" Tennessee Lookout reported on Aug. 11 that the federal database listed Adams, a Robertson County town; WSMV reported on Aug. 21, from federal filings, that it was planned for Nashville's Donelson area (ZIP code 37214), the ZIP code on the award record. ICE data cited by Tennessee Lookout show 287(g) agreements grew from fewer than 200 before January 2025 to 2,179 by August 2026.\n\nSeparately, the Javorsky complaint alleges California plate-reader data reached over 300 out-of-state agencies including 287(g) participants; that concerns Flock data sharing, not this center.",
