Chatrie: the citations both Schmidt briefs lean on

The Supreme Court decided Chatrie v. United States on June 29, 2026: 146 S. Ct. 2193 (2026). The superseded en banc Fourth Circuit decision is 136 F.4th 100 (4th Cir. 2025), with separate opinions by Wilkinson, Wynn, Berner, Richardson (concurring) and Gregory (dissenting). This Judge Gregory is unrelated to the Eleventh Circuit's United States v. Gregory. The sixteen-state brief, filed June 18, cited a panel opinion already vacated for en banc rehearing; eleven days later the Supreme Court decided Chatrie the other way.
